Step 2: Gather Required Documents

Each member of the group must provide:

  • Duly filled application form

  • Apply well in advance, as group registrations are subject to a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Carry original documents and a copy during the Yatra.
  • Group members must follow the assigned darshan date strictly.

  • The amount payable to the Shrine Board (Yatra Registration Fee and Postal Charges) shall be sent as Bank Draft drawn in favour of Chief Accounts Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.
  • No Yatri who is below the age of 13 years or above the age of 70 years and pregnant lady with
  • six weeks pregnancy would be registered to undertake Yatra, even if Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) has been issued by authorised Doctors.
  • In case, requisite registration slots are not available on a given date for which Registration has
  • been sought by the Group, the Group Leader shall be contacted over telephone and informed about the next available slot.
  • The registered yatri through group registration facility shall have to collect RFID card after biometric eKYC authentication at any one of the centers established at various locations in Jammu & Kashmir Divisions. No yatri shall be allowed to cross access control gate at Domail / Chandanwari without a valid RFID card. Further, yatris shall be allowed to embark on her/ his Yatra only on the day and route for which she/ he has been registered.

  • Please do not undertake your Yatra without proper shoes and woollen clothes and always carry Identity Card, registration Permit, RFID card, raincoat, Umbrella etc.
  • Persons aged more than 70 years and less than 13 years and women with 6 weeks pregnancy are not allowed to undertake pilgrimage.
  • Please consult your doctor and get your health check-up done before embarking your journey and do not forget to carry your Registration Permit, and RFID card.
  • BSNL, JIO & AIRTEL SIM cards (Post paid) Only Will work in Yatra area. However, you can purchase pre-paid or Pre-on Post Sim cards at the Baltal and Nunwan Base Camp.
  • Please walk slowly while ascending, relax at regular intervals and descend immediately to lower elevation in case of any symptom of sickness, discomfort during the Yatra and seek nearby Medical Help.
  • Please keep your clothes and eatables in a suitable water proof bag to avoid your belongings getting wet.
  • Women Yatris should avoid wearing Saree during trekking and should wear Salwar Kameez, Pant-Shirt, Track suit or any recommended clothing suited for trekking on high altitude.
  • Please do not commence journey on an empty stomach. Please do not overexert during the Yatra beyond your normal capacity.
  • During Yatra, please travel in groups with porters/horses/ponies and ensure they remain in your sight. Please help your fellow Yatris on the tracks.

  • The Holy Cave is located at around12800 feet, please do take precautions in view of high-altitude sickness and avoid overnight stay at Holy Cave. Please do not ignore the symptoms of high-altitude sickness.
  • Please do not drink alcohol, caffeinated drink or smoke. Please do not throw used plastic bottles and other garbage in open.
  • Earth, water, air, fire and sky are integral parts of lord Shiva. Please respect the environment and do nothing whatsoever to pollute the Yatra area.
