The Amarnath Yatra is one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimages, attracting thousands of devotees every year to seek the blessings of Baba Barfani at the holy Amarnath Cave in Jammu and Kashmir. Under this facility, a group of five or more intending pilgrims can apply together for their Yatra Permit through registered post. The Group Leader can submit the application forms, Compulsory Health Certificates (CHCs), photographs and prescribed registration fees on behalf of all members.

According to the prescribed guidelines, Amarnath Yatra Group Registration 2027 will commence on 14th April 2027 and continue until 31st May 2027. However, the last date for receiving group registration applications by post is 20th May 2027.

Group registration will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the availability of date-wise and route-wise registration slots.

Who Can Apply for Amarnath Yatra Group Registration 2027?

The group registration facility is designed for devotees who intend to undertake the pilgrimage together.

The following conditions must be fulfilled:

1. A group must consist of at least five intending pilgrims.
2. One member of the group must be appointed as the Group Leader.
3. The Group Leader will submit the application and documents for every member.
4. All pilgrims must fulfil the prescribed age and medical eligibility conditions.
5. Each member must have a valid Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC).
6. Registration will depend on the availability of slots for the selected Yatra date and route.

A maximum of 30 registrations per group per day per route is permitted under the prescribed guidelines.

How to Apply for Amarnath Yatra Group Registration 2027?

Unlike individual offline registration through designated bank branches, group registration requires the Group Leader to send the complete application documents through registered post to the Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.

Follow these steps to complete your group registration:

Step 1: Form a Group

First, organise a group of at least five pilgrims who wish to undertake the Amarnath Yatra together. Select one member as the Group Leader to coordinate the registration process.

Step 2: Download the Application Form

Visit the official Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board website at https://jksasb.nic.in and download the prescribed group registration application form.

Each intending pilgrim must complete the required application details.

Step 3: Obtain Compulsory Health Certificates

Every group member must obtain an original Compulsory Health Certificate from an authorised doctor or medical institution.

For Amarnath Yatra 2027, only CHCs issued on or after 8th April 2027 will be accepted.

Step 4: Attach Passport-Size Photographs

Attach one recent passport-size photograph of every applicant. Each pilgrim must sign on the front side of their respective photograph.

Step 5: Prepare the Registration Fee

The group must pay ₹250 per pilgrim as the Yatra registration fee. Additionally, postal charges will apply according to the total number of group members.

Step 6: Prepare the Bank Draft

The registration fee and applicable postal charges must be submitted through a Bank Draft drawn in favour of:

Step 7: Send the Application by Registered Post

The Group Leader must collect all application forms, original CHCs, photographs, Bank Draft and contact details and send the complete application through registered post to the following address:

Documents Required for Amarnath Yatra Group Registration 2027

The Group Leader must submit the following documents for every member of the group:

• Duly filled individual application forms.
• Original Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) in the prescribed format.
• One passport-size photograph signed by the applicant on the front.
• Registration fee of ₹250 per pilgrim.
• Bank Draft covering the registration fee and postal charges.
• Group Leader’s complete mailing address.
• Active mobile number and email ID of the Group Leader.

Amarnath Yatra Group Registration 2027 Fee and Postal Charges

Every pilgrim applying through the group registration facility must pay ₹250 as the registration fee. In addition, postal charges depend on the total number of applicants included in the group.

The applicable postal charges are as follows:

For example, if a group consists of 10 pilgrims, the total registration fee will be ₹2,500 and the postal charges will be ₹100. Therefore, the total Bank Draft amount will be ₹2,600.

Age Limit and Medical Requirements for Group Registration

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has prescribed certain medical and age-related restrictions to ensure the safety of pilgrims undertaking this challenging Himalayan pilgrimage.

The following applicants are not eligible for registration:

• Children below 13 years of age.
• Senior citizens above 70 years of age.
• Pregnant women with six weeks or more of pregnancy.

These restrictions apply even if the applicant possesses a Compulsory Health Certificate issued by an authorised doctor.

Furthermore, all CHCs submitted for Amarnath Yatra 2027 group registration must have been issued on or after 8th April 2027.

RFID Card Collection After Group Registration

Obtaining a Yatra Permit through group registration does not complete all the formalities required before starting the pilgrimage.

Every registered pilgrim must collect their RFID card after completing biometric eKYC authentication at any one of the designated RFID centres established in the Jammu and Kashmir divisions.

The RFID card is mandatory for crossing the access control gates at:

• Domail – Baltal Route.
• Chandanwari – Pahalgam Route.

Pilgrims will be permitted to undertake the Yatra only on the date and route mentioned in their registration. No pilgrim will be allowed to cross the access control gate without a valid RFID card.
